The Adroit relative humidity transmitter is a device that measures the air relative humidity. It is used to control the humidity indoors. It automatically boosts the ventilation unit when the humidity increases above the set threshold. When the normal humidity level is reached, the ventilation unit automatically returns to everyday running rate.
An additional humidity sensor may be required in special circumstances. For example, when you want to measure the indoor air humidity level of a particular humid room and boost the ventilation in that room. For this purpose, additional humidity sensors are available as accessories.
The optimum relative humidity level indoors is between 40% and 60%. Dry air (below 40%) can damage the furniture or electronics as lack of moisture puts them at risk of cracking or warping. The dry air may also cause irritation or inflammation of eyes, nose, throat and skin. Moist air (above 60%) puts people at risk of developing respiratory disease and can cause mould and mildew to grow in the room.
